Katie Jacobson is a performing artist whose work and education spans between the USA, Israel, The Netherlands, Belgium and Sweden all of whose cultural and artistic imprint have shaped and sharpened the artist she is today. She is deeply interested the body and its inexplicable connection to the mind and how within the frame of performing arts one can create unconventional meeting points between performers and audience that communicate beyond linear framework. She hopes to inspire, encourage and show possibilities of being in and within ones body in a radically accepting way and using all facets of human experience as material and inspiration for creation and performance. She values dance as a craft, a finely honed skill but also a communal act, an act of rebellion, an act of ritual, an act of connection weaving through time and space, borders and boundaries, cultures and trends. Her biggest wish in teaching is to alchemize and synthesize the most relevant learnings in her ongoing personal self study in the field of movement and well as her years of professional artistic experience in a way thats revenant and purposeful for her students.
