As you like it (arbeidstittel) er en performativ presentasjon av et prosjekt under utvikling til å bli en forestilling.
Forestillingen tar utgangspunkt i stripping som performance på såkalte strippeteatre og strippeklubber for å undersøke ulike perspektiver på seksualitet og relasjoner mellom utøverens erfaring og tilskuerens blikk. Gjennom historiske perspektiver på nakenhet, seksualitet og dens fremføring fra Edo-perioden og etter i Japan, stilles det spørsmål ved ulike måter å betrakte kvinnekroppen på.

As you like it (working title) is a performative presentation of a project in research phase, in process of becoming a performance.
The performance takes its point of departure in performance in striptease theatres and clubs to examine ways of seeing sexuality and relations between the performer’s experience and the spectator’s gaze. By looking at historical perspectives on nakedness, sexuality and its performance from the Edo Period and after in Japan, possible ways of looking and gazing are questioned.

Et kort utdrag fra og presentasjon av Blue Carousel, som blir en satire om forførelse inspirert av paradisfuglens paringsdans. Forestillingen leker seg med forventinger og assosiasjoner. Bysheim og Patry benytter seg av gjentakelser og humor som koreografiske grep for å kommentere hvordan vi tyder kvinnekroppens språk.

A short preview and presentation of Blue Carousel that will become a satire on seduction inspired by the mating dance of paradise birds, a power play of expectations and associations, collapsing and climaxing into a series of transformations. Bysheim and Patry work with humour and repetition as a choreographic tool to comment on how the. female body is viewed, objectified and categorised.
